Interview Information

Immigration and border control is one of the most controversial issues being discussed on network and cable news outlets, talk radio stations and in newspapers across the country. Media personnel usually know enough to point out general information about our porous borders or the fact that we have an estimated ten million plus illegal aliens in the country.

When the media wants “experts” to comment on immigration legislation or a serious incident involving illegal immigrants, they usually ask politicians or representatives from immigration-related organizations (La Raza, Mexican-American Legal Defense Fund (MALDEF), the Center for Immigration Studies or the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR). These pundits are usually not independent, and their commentary is often one-sided and “agenda” motivated.

In cases where the media contacts immigration law enforcement officials, it is usually the U.S. Border Patrol. Admittedly the Patrol has jurisdiction and significant experience on the Mexican and Canadian borders. However, they have little experience enforcing immigration laws on the interior of the United States, or overseas.

Neville Cramer’s expertise comes from training, education and actual law enforcement experience in the former Immigration and Naturalization Service. He served for more than twenty-six years before retiring in November, 2002, and has authored the books “Fixing the INSanity – America’s Immigration Crisis.” and “Immigration Chaos – Solutions to an American Crisis

Cramer held the following positions in INS before his retirement:

  • Border Patrol Agent, Eagle Pass, Texas
  • Special Agent, Chicago, Illinois and Washington, D. C.
  • Supervisory Special Agent, Washington, D. C.
  • Senior Special Agent, Headquarters, Washington, D. C.
  • Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Headquarters, Washington, D.C.
  • Chief, United States Immigration Officer Academy, FLETC, Glynco, Georgia
  • Special Agent-in-Charge, Overseas Enforcement Unit, Washington, D. C.

Aside from general knowledge of U.S. immigration laws and procedures, Cramer has significant experience with the following immigration law enforcement related problems and programs;

  • Alien smuggling and human trafficking methods
  • Border control systems
  • Immigration and identification documents
  • Document verification systems
  • The E-Passport program

Several pieces of immigration-related legislation have recently been introduced by Congress. Intense debate is expected during the next several months. Many of the proposals suggested in the legislation were first mentioned in Cramer’s “Fixing the INSanity” and “Immigration Chaos”.

Neville W. Cramer can supply the media with something rarely heard today - an independent and professional commentary on our nations’ growing immigration crisis.
